OBIEE 11g: Changing Timer / Search Results Image while report running/rendering

Hi All,

Today, i had a requirement where customer wants to change the search image/timer when report is running..

Thanks to Kaushik Katrapati & Shareen(My Team-mates)¬†who has shared his basic idea on this.. and it’s working.

By default, obiee will show the timer image when report is rendering..

We need to replace the .GIF image which you want to substitute/replace the original image.

Better take backup of the existing .GIF image. New image name has to be changed to: searching.GIF

Following are the places where new image file has to placed..

BTW, obiee is the version available for me to test this. Hope same for but not tested..

Creating Database in TimesTen of Exalytics

Hi Users,

As all of we know that Exalytics use TimesTen database.

Today we learn how to create new database in TimesTen

In Exalytics, edit your sys.odbc.ini file.

Declare & define dsn with parameters required. Let’s we’ve defined dsn as TT_Test

Connect to Exalytics through putty

Enter into sql command prompt by issuing ./ttisql command

Issue this command after connecting to sql command prompt.

Connect “dsn=TT_Test”;

Let’s understand this command, while issuing connect command to TimesTen, what it’ll do is: It checks any database existed with name TT_Test. If not exists, it create new database in TimesTen, if existed it loads the data into Memory.

You’ll see message: It’s successfully connected/created.

If you want to use this database to crate aggregates from summary advisor, we need to create a schema in this.

So, issue this command:

>create user test_user identified by test_user;

>grant admin to test_user;

Now, schema is created with test_user name and can be used in rpd to make it available for summary advisor as target db.

Hope we’re clear on how to create database in TimesTen of Exalytics.

OBIEE 11g: Do not have the correct permissions to perform MUD operations

I placed rpd in other machine and shared the folder for MUD environment to be configured.

I get this error while i’m attempting to check out projects.

This is happened because you’ve read permissions on shared directory where your master copy is kept.

Change permissions to Read/Write

Windows Can’t find directory path while installing rcu to install OBIEE 11g

Directories that rcu file storing shouldn’t contain spaces in it.

Here is the path that i stored rcu installer.

There is space in OBIEE between OBIEE & number.

There is oracle note that there shouldn’t be any spaces in directories that containing rcu installer.

Remedy: Remove space in directory then try run rcu.bat
